Best Loved Indian Stories..

Recently I've read this book:



Until now, I had not read any of the books by an Indian author writing in English, except a few by Ruskin Bond. And this book has around 20 of them: R.K. Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, Anita Desai among others. Initial couple of stories gave a feeling that this book is meant for teenagers and some of them belong to the pre-independence period, but the later ones touch a wide variety of subjects about Indian life and culture. That invoked a though-crescendo in my mind.
