Quotable quote

When AR Rahman won oscar he quoted the most popular dialogue from Bollywood:

"Mere paas maa hein!"

At the same moment, it seemed as if Bollywood was telling Hollywood:

"Hamare paas Rahman hein!"

engrossing film

I watched Memento recently, after knowing that the upcoming movie Ghajini is loosely based on it.

The way the story is presented in parts and in rewinds is quite innovative. Each time we have to change lot of our assumptions entirely, and so it changes our perceptions about the characters. Its like a big puzzle and you are being given small hints sporadically. You get totally engrossed.

It will be quite interesting to see how Ghajini is made (or changed?) to suit Indian audience.

Genuinely good..

There is no cricket, and there is no chucking.
It is 'Chak' de...

Definitely a genuinely good motion (picture).
What I liked most is how the team spirit is built from the scratch.
My rating: 7/10.

Salaam Mumbai

The vast and fast city is certainly awe-inspiring.

Once on a journey I had a conversation with some Spanish tourists about this City. They were on a trip which included Mumbai. Madrid, the capitol of their country also has so many people, they told me.But the manner in which very large population of Mumbai commutes & the way people rush was the main thng they were impressed with. I explained them how the local trains form the backbone of the transport.

There is this book which I intend to read sometime. Recently I watched this movie. Found it as good as this one. Both of these are very realistic, depict the heroics of the city's police force, which highly rated world over.
