exciting times for sports!

This year 2008 provided phenomenal entertainment to the sports fans.
Phelps and Bolt, dazzled us with their superhuman performances.

Bolt made this interesting statement, to justify his celebrations before finish line:
"I like to enjoy my work. You can't be too serious at your job".

Usain's feat of the world record is almost exactly found in fiction. If you have seen Animatrix-the short movie episodes which are the precursor of the famous Matrix movie, there is one episode named world record. An athlete there suddenly springs ahead of the other pack of athletes, realising that he is way ahead of the worldly rules.

Nadal and Federer rivalry took the tennis to even higher level after Federer's dominance.

What now has added a topping to these interesting events are the announcements of the return by Lance armstrong and Floyd landis to the Tour de France. While Landis has obviously a strong reason to return, Lance says he is inspired by several olympic athletes winning medals in their thirties.

Bindra completed the logical sequence of Bronze and Silver with his gold. The initiator in this sequence, Leander Paes seems to be getting better and better with his age like an old wine. Reaching the finals of two events in US Open is very extraordinary considering the fact that he even had a brain surgery sometime back.

What 2009 can offer - An interesting Tour de France, more Grand Slam finals between Nadal and Federer-perhaps more than those in 2008.
